How a Duel is Won
Throne of Dust is a duel of minds as much as blades, and today we show you exactly how one is won.
Every fight is turn-based and one-on-one — no squads, no luck, no crowd to hide in.
Each round you make two choices at once: one zone to strike, and one zone to guard.
Head.
Chest.
Belt.
Legs.
In the same breath, your enemy chooses too — a strike and a guard of their own — and the round resolves on how well you read each other.
Land where they left themselves open and the dust drinks their blood; guess wrong and it drinks yours.
There is no button that wins for you; there is only the pattern behind your foe's choices, waiting to be seen.
Your Combat Rating tells you how far your build has come, but it will not save you from a mind you failed to read.
The waste does not forgive a wandering thought — strike true, or feed the sand.
Master the read, and every foe on the road becomes a puzzle instead of a wall.
