The Kingdom That Died First
Before the dust, before the Throne, there was a kingdom — and it is the oldest wound in Throne of Dust.
It did not fall to armies or fire.
It fell to a king who would not stay dead, and to a curse that spread out from him like sand on the wind.
The roads went first, swallowed grain by grain until no path led anywhere but inward.
Then the towers, then the fields, then the names carved into every stone worth remembering.
Where the living fled, the buried woke, dragged back to their feet by the same rot that took their king.
What remains is not a nation but a waste: a graveyard the size of a realm, ruled by the one thing in it that cannot die.
This is the ground you cross as Corvyn, and every step of it remembers what it used to be.
The dust is not empty.
It is full of everything the kingdom lost.
Somewhere at its heart, on a throne of dust, that loss has a name — and it is waiting for you.
